On March 12-20 the Russian capital and 14 more regions welcomed the representatives of the international youth movement Future Team. 300 young people, participants of the XIX International Festival of Youth and Students from 110 countries, gathered to define the direction to develop the community.
The business program of the meeting was held within the framework of the forum “Russia – Land of Opportunities”. Apart from the work done on the initiatives designed to achieve goals of the UN Sustainable Development and Future Team resolution, delegates learnt about the projects of the platform represented at the meeting – programs on volunteering, youth and social entrepreneurship, development for managers and professional skills. All projects of the platform “Russia – Land of Opportunities” are unified by openness, accessibility and the social elevator system. The participants of Future Team also presented their initiatives; many of them may be translated in other countries in the future.
One of the most memorable moments of the program was meeting the minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov. The representatives of the meeting asked him questions as well as discussed such topics as international volunteering, Russian-Mexican relations, humanitarian missions and reactions to the statements of the British Prime Minister Theresa May.
At the final session the participants presented the resolution of the movement. In their opinion Future Team mission is to create a global community of active youth striving to develop their country, region and the world. During the work on the resolution young people thought through a number of projects including the creation of the International Academy of Leadership, development of a social network, introduction of an interactive educational system etc.
On March 16-20 the participants divided into groups visited 13 Russian cities: Vladimir, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, St. Petersburg, Sevastopol and Sochi. In each city there were sightseeing, business, cultural and sports programs organized.
In Kaliningrad the participants met with the Deputy Chairmen of the Government of the region Natalia Ischenko and Alexander Torba, in Nizhny Novgorod – with the Deputy Governor Sergey Shevchenko and members of the Council for Youth Affairs. The business program also involved visiting of the largest universities, educational centers and enterprises. For instance, in Vladimir the young people visited the confectionary factory “Ferrero”, in Yekaterinburg – the Ural Center for Shared Use “Modern Nanotechnologies”.
In the cities that will host the FIFA World Cup Russia they had tours to the objects of championship and volunteer centers for the recruitment and training of volunteers.
In some regions the young people met with participants of #VFMS2017, saw old friends and refreshed the memories of the festival.
In each city the representatives of Future Team visited museums, philharmonic halls, theaters and other cultural institutions.
